SK Group claimed it has enhanced group-wide social value by 60 percent on year to 18.4 trillion won ($14.2 billion) last year. Social value is the value of the negative and positive impact on society from corporate activities such as product development, production, and sales. SK’s indirect economic contribution of 19.3 trillion won, which includes employment, dividends, and tax payments, contributed the most to the social value. SK generated 10.1 trillion won in employment, 3.4 trillion won in dividends, and 5.9 trillion won in tax payments last year.
