SPC Samlip's Pokemon bread priced at $10.16 by resellers

SPC Samlip’s “Pokemon bread” has been enjoying immense popularity for almost three months since its re-launch after a near 15-year hiatus, making its resell price hover between 3,000 won ($2.34) and 5,000 won, more than six times higher than its original price of 1,500 won. One reseller even prices it at 9,900 won for the product plus 3,000 won for parcel fee. According to SPC Samlip, sales volume of the Pokemon character bread surpassed 10 million in 43 days after its re-launched, and cumulative sales are expected to reach 22 million by May, with its monthly sales value estimated at 6 billion won in Q1. The character-engraved seal sticker inside the bread packaging is a strong contributor to the unfazed popularity of the bread.
