Hyundai Oilbank breaks ground for next-gen biodiesel plant in Daesan

Hyundai Oilbank Co. broke ground for a next-gen biodiesel production facilities in its Daesan plant as part of efforts to nurture white bio as its new growth engine with blue hydrogen and eco-friendly chemicals and materials. It plans to build a next-gen biodiesel factory with an annual capacity of 130,000 ton by 2023 and switch part of facilities in the Daesan plant for into the line for production of 500,000 tons of hydro-treated vegetable oil (HVO) per year by 2024. In the longer term, the company aims to use inedible resources like oil sludge, waste vegetable oil and palm fruit drops as fuels to protect environment.
