S. Korea's household loans at banks rise for the first time in 5 months

Household loans at Korean banks stretched back in April after four months of decline, according to the Bank of Korea. Balance of household loans stood 1,060.2 trillion won ($826 billion) as of April, up 1.2 trillion won from the previous month on eased restrictions. Mortgage loans grew 2.1 trillion won from the previous month to 786.8 trillion. Banks’ corporate lending rose for the fourth straight month to 1,106 trillion won as of the end of April.
