Sigur Ros will be coming to Korea for a concert for the first time in five years.
Private Curve surprised fans Monday by announcing that the popular Icelandic band Sigur Ros will be holding a concert on Aug. 19 in Seoul’s SK Olympic Handball Gymnasium in southern Seoul. The concert is a part of the band’s world tour to promote their first studio album since “Kveikur” in 2013.
The upcoming visit will also include keyboardist Kjartan Sveinson, who recently rejoined the band after leaving in 2013. The band includes singer and guitarist Jonsi, bassist Georg Holm and Sveinsson on keyboard. The band said they will perform “new songs at the shows, alongside material drawn from their acclaimed 25-year discography.”
Tickets to the concert will go on sale at noon on May 19 through Melon Ticket or We Make Price. Tickets range from 121,000 won ($95) to 143,000 won.
Sigur Ros first visited Korea in 2013 and has made three visits so far. Their last visit was in 2017.
