The World DJ Festival, a local EDM event, will be held offline for the first time in three years, according to festival organizer BEPCTangent Creative on Tuesday.
The festival will be held from Aug. 11 to 13 at Jamsil Sports Complex's Olympic Auxiliary Stadium in Songpa District, southern Seoul.
A total of 12 global artists and 30 local artists are set to perform live at the festival. The lineup of the performers has not yet been announced.
The event is anticipated to be the biggest in-person event since the pandemic took hold in 2020, seating some 80,000 people.
The upcoming festival has been scheduled to be held close to the Formula E championship on Aug. 13. It is an electric car racing event hosted by the Federation Internationale de l’Automobile. It will be the first time that the event's championship will be held in Korea.
"At this festival with Formula E, we expect that the audience members will be able to enjoy the thrill of EDM as well as the speed of world-class racing competitions at the same time," said the festival's organizer.
The 2022 World DJ Festival was initially slated to be held in June but was delayed to August after considering the local social distancing measures.
Since 2007, the World DJ Festival has been the country's most representative electronic music festival held annually.
