An anonymous philanthropist donated 30 billion won ($23.46 million) worth three buildings to Korea Advanced Institute of Science and Technology (KAIST), South Korea’s top national science and research university. KAIST will use the donation to provide need-based scholarships to students and in medical and bio research. This is the seventh-largest individual donation given to KAIST and the largest from an anonymous donor. KAIST, the center of the nation’s science and technology research and development, has continuously drawn donations from philanthropists across the country since its launch.
