Controversial beauty YouTuber Song Ji-ah posted what could be her final video on her YouTube channel FreeZia on Wednesday, announcing that she’ll quit all her activities on YouTube.
“I’ll set all my videos on YouTube to private and will suspend all my activities and take time to reflect on myself,” Song said in the video, standing in front of the camera makeup-free.
“I admit that it’s all my fault. As a YouTuber, I had to be extra cautious with my actions [...] My thoughtless actions undermined the value of the luxury brands and I do apologize sincerely to those brands' designers,” she added. “I am spending day after day regretting my past behavior.”
The star influencer has been under fire for wearing knock-off designer items and flaunting them on Netflix’s hit dating reality series “Single’s Inferno” and on her YouTube channel. The apology video comes a week after she posted an apology note on her Instagram account.
She continued by saying that she purchased such knock-offs because “they were so pretty.” But then, as she gained popularity worldwide, she said she fell into a trap of purchasing them habitually. “I couldn’t get my act together after being so enraptured in them.”
Song also made a request to all her viewers to refrain from hurting her family with malicious comments targeted toward them as it’s “solely my fault.”
Song has over 3.6 million Instagram followers and 1.9 million YouTube subscribers.
