Singer and actor Son Dam-bi, 38, announced Wednesday that she’ll become a bride in May. She made the announcement by posting a handwritten letter on her Instagram.
“I have finally found someone I want to spend the rest of my life with,” she wrote, adding that she wanted to break the news to her fans first. “I become my true self when I’m with him, he makes me smile and allowed me to realize what genuine happiness is,” she added. She did not reveal the exact date or the venue.
In December, she confirmed rumors that she is in a relationship with former long-track speed skater Lee Kyou-hyuk. Her agency, H& Entertainment said in early December that “they’ve been friends for a long time and began dating three months ago.”
Son said she’ll continue working actively as a singer and an actor and promised she’ll keep her fans updated about her married life.
Son debuted as a solo singer in 2007. Her hit songs include “Saturday Night” (2009).
She is also active as an actor on television series such as “Dream” (2009) on SBS and “When the Camellia Blooms” (2019) on KBS. She currently appears as a host for the iHQ variety show “It’s On Us.”
Lee was selected for the national team in 1991 and participated in six winter Olympics from 1994 in Lillehammer to Sochi in 2014. He is currently the head coach of the iHQ speed skating team.
