Boy band Monsta X is postponing its U.S. tour to May, its agency Starship Entertainment said.
A new schedule was uploaded to the band’s social media accounts on Friday.
The original U.S. tour was titled “2022 Monsta X World Tour in US/Canada” and was planned to take place in January and February.
However, due to the spread of the Omicron variant, the agency has postponed the dates and renamed the tour “2022 Monsta X No Limit US Tour.”
“We have decided to reschedule [...] to May [and] June, 2022,” Starship said in English through a statement. “We have made this decision with the safety of fans, artists and staff as our top priority.”
The first concert of the tour will be on May 21 in New York and the last will be on Jun. 11 in Los Angeles. The band will perform in nine cities: New York, New York; Fairfax, Virginia; Detroit, Michigan; Chicago, Illinois; Sunrise, Florida; Atlanta, Georgia; Fort Worth, Texas; Phoenix, Arizona; and Los Angeles, California.
“Purchased tickets will be honored for the new dates,” Starship said. “For any canceled shows, those who purchased their tickets through a primary site like ticketmaster.com will be notified directly regarding refunds.”
For other secondary or resale sites including StubHub, SeatGeek or Vivid Seats, Starship advised to reach out to the respective sites and get a refund directly.
Monsta X debuted in 2015 through Starship and Mnet’s music survival program “No.Mercy” (2014-15). The band currently has six members: Shownu, Minhyuk, Kihyun, Hyungwon, Joohoney and I.M. The band debuted with its first EP “Trespass” (2015). It is known for hits like “Who Do U Love?” (2019), “Love Killa” (2020) and “You Problem” (2021).
