DGB Financial Group has become South Korea’s first financial institution to purchase a virtual office building. The regional banking group said on Thursday that it has purchased the second headquarters of DGB Daegu Bank in Buk District in Daegu on virtual land trade platform Earth 2, a metaverse between virtual and physical world based on a grid of 10x10 meters, at 1 million won ($838). Users can buy virtual land with credit cards and cash transfers. The group has been actively incorporating metaverse platform to hold virtual meetings, exhibitions, and founding anniversary celebrations.
