Moonbyul of girl group Mamamoo’s third solo EP “6equence,” released on Wednesday, topped the iTunes albums chart in 20 regions.
The lead track “Lunatic” also topped the iTunes songs chart in 11 countries such as Brazil, the Philippines, Malaysia, Peru, Mexico and Poland. The song is in the house genre and expresses a lover’s fluctuating state of mind when she becomes bored of her relationship.
As the title of her EP suggests, each track is created to feel like a scene from one’s relationship, from the moment of meeting and falling in love to the aftermath of a break-up.
Moonbyul is one of the four members of girl group Mamamoo which debuted in 2014. The group has won various awards since then, including Best Album at the 2021 Golden Disk Awards and Best Vocal Performance Group at the 2020 Mnet Asian Music Awards. She made her solo debut in 2018 with a three-track album titled “Selfish.”
