Vehicle sales of South Korea’s Hyundai Motor Co. and sister Kia Corp. in Europe jumped 21 percent on year to total 1,018,563 units in 2021 to command a market share of 8.7 percent and rank fourth in terms of volume and share after Volkswagen, Stellantis and Renault. Hyundai Motor sold 515,886 units, and Kia 502,677 units. Hoping to further expand presence in Europe, the Korean auto giant has applied Apple’s digital key feature to models under its marque Genesis brand.
