According to the RIAJ, “Power of Love” sold more than 250,000 copies last month.
Last year, the band earned two other platinum certifications for the EPs “Your Choice” and “Attacca.”
The RIAJ certifies music based on sales including hardcopy CD purchases and online downloads. Singles, EPs or albums earn gold certification for more than 100,000 copies sold, platinum for 250,000, double platinum for 500,000 and triple platinum for 750,000. Over 1 million copies sold earns a million certification.
Seventeen released “Power of Love,” or “Aino Chikara” in Japanese, on Dec. 8. It was the band’s sixth Japanese EP. It consists of three songs: the title track and Japanese versions of the songs “Home” and “Snap Shoot.”

“Power of Love” is dedicated to Carats.
Seventeen debuted as a 13-member band in 2015 and is known for hits such as “Adore U” (2015), “Don't Wanna Cry” (2017) and “Ready to Love” (2021).
