Hyundai Motor Co. and Kia Corp. sold a combined 686,616 cars last year in India, gaining 21.7% from a year ago and taking up 22.1% of total sales in the market. Sales of SUVs totaled 430,062 units, or 36.4 percent of all SUVs sold last year in India. Hyundai Motor’s compact SUV Creta sold 125,437 units, becoming the fifth best-selling model among all vehicles and the top best-selling model in the SUV category.
