GS sets up venture capital firm for first time as holding company in Korea

GS Holdings has set up corporate venture capital (CVC) firm GS Ventures for the first time as a holding company in South Korea with 10 billion won ($8.3 million) initial investment, the company said on Sunday. Headed by Heo Jun-nyeong, vice president at GS Holdings, GS Ventures will make direct investments in new growth sectors picked by GS Group such as bio, climate change, resources recycling, retail, and new energy sectors.
