SK ecoplant released a blueprint for a "circular economy" at CES 2022.

On Wednesday, the engineering company displayed its "Net Zero City" circular economy model where waste and air pollutants are recycled to generate energy.

CES 2022 is being held in Las Vegas.

A circular economy refers to a sustainable economic model that minimizes energy loss.

A range of carbon neutrality-related technologies and projects were introduced at the company's booth.

Its Net Zero City, a 100-centimeter (39.3-inch) wide and 23.6-inch-long diorama, gave a glimpse of a hypothetical city built with eco-friendly renewable energy technologies. Facilities in the city will produce "green" hydrogen, which is produced with renewable energy sources, and generate energy via fuel cell power plants.

In the Net Zero City, energy is generated with solar and wind power, and the remaining electricity is utilized to produce eco-friendly hydrogen. The green energy is supplied through hydrogen fuel cell technology. Biogas will be recycled through a fuel cell generation system.

"The model that SK ecoplant exhibited at the CES is not for the future, as the technologies have already been actualized," said Park Kyung-il, CEO of SK ecoplant.

Park also stated that SK ecoplant plans to be the frontrunner in the Asian eco-friendly energy market.

"We aim to become Asia's industry leader in eco-friendly businesses, completing a new renewable energy value chain and a sustainable city with no environmental impact."

This marks the first time SK ecoplant participated at the CES trade show.
