The 64th Annual Grammy Awards ceremony has been postponed due to the Omicron variant, according to the Recording Academy on Wednesday.
Originally scheduled for Jan. 31 in Los Angeles, the Grammys will soon announce a new date for the ceremony.
As a result, boy band BTS has also canceled its plans to visit the United States to attend the ceremony. The K-pop phenomenon has been nominated for Best Pop Duo/Group Performance for its megahit "Butter" (2021).
The Grammys were also postponed from Jan. 31 to Mar. 14 last year due to the Covid-19 pandemic.
Fans are waiting to see if BTS becomes the first K-pop artist to take home a Grammy.
