Samsung, LG, SK ready to show off display, battery prowess at CES 2022

South Korean tech giants Samsung Electronics Co., LG Electronics Inc. and SK Innovation Co. are ready to awe the world with their latest TV and battery technologies at the upcoming world’s biggest electronics tradeshow in Las Vegas.

Samsung Electronics on Sunday teased its new monitor products including Odyssey Neo G8, a 32-inch curved gaming monitor with the 1,000R curvature and 2,000 nits of peak brightness, before its official exhibition at the 2022 Consumer Electronics Show (CES) to be held in Las Vegas, on Jan. 5-7.

Its new gaming monitor uses Quantum mini-LED panel, which is only one fortieth of conventional LED panels, and quantum matrix, Samsung’s proprietary image quality controlling technology that guarantees brilliant picture quality.

LG Electronics will introduce the entire OLED TV lineup for 2022, including the LG OLED evo TV at its online showroom. The LG QNED mini LED, LG Nanocell TV and other premium LCD TV models will also be displayed. LG will run an offline booth during the tradeshow to enable visitors to experience its products using VR and AR technologies.

SK Innovation will boast its latest EV battery technologies and related solutions that should help the company achieve its goal to reduce carbon emissions by 11 million tons per year from 2030. Under the latest green roadmap, it aims to cut 4.17 million tons of emissions in battery and separator, 1.36 million tons in battery recycling, 5 million tons in plastic recycling, 500,000 tons in carbon capture and storage, and 10,000 tons in EV fluids.

At its booth during the CES 2022, the Korean parent of battery-focused SK On will display flagship high-performance model NCM9 that has the proportion of nickel up to nearly 90 percent to explain its battery business.
