LG brings on corporate members to hyperscale AI ecosystem

LG Group has added speed in forming its own artificial intelligence (AI) ecosystem by forming partnership with three Korean companies just in a week after the debut of its hyperscale AI language model Exaone.

According to industry sources on Wednesday, LG Group’s AI research hub LG AI Research signed partnership agreements with Woori Bank, GS Retail and VA Corporation consecutively this week to develop customized hyperscale AI-based services and business models together.

Hyperscale AI is capable of learning and making decisions like the human brain. LG’s Exaone unveiled last week learned more than 600 billion corpus, the world's largest, and more than 250 million high-resolution images combined with texts.

The partners are aiming to optimize the potential benefits of Exaone for more efficient customer engagement and business growth for different sectors.

GS Retail is hoping to bolster its e-commerce capacity using LG’s Exaone. It plans to innovate its business model by developing AI that can respond to customer needs.

Woori Bank wants to develop future-oriented bank services and new financial services as well as 'AI Banker' that can provide specialized services by learning financial languages.

LG and VA Corporation will jointly develop 'AI human' for customer services with great scalability beyond kiosk and metaverse interfaces. VA Corporation said it will create a more human-like AI robot based on Exaone to read emotions embedded in human languages and even create facial expressions and gestures beyond limited voice communication.

Starting with the partnerships, LG plans to speed up the advancement of its AI solutions applicable to all industrial fields such as medical, education, content, transportation, and law, while collaborating with partners around the world to build an Exaone-based platform and create a hyperscale AI ecosystem for mass-market application.
