Hyundai Department Store’s head store in Apgujeong, Seoul, achieved 1 trillion won ($844.8 million) in annual sales for the first time since its opening in 1985, thanks to the store renovation that has expanded upmarket goods lineups to all five floors since last year to capitalize on the explosive demand for luxury items. Hyundai Department Store said its VIP sales grew 31 percent from January to November compared to the same period last year, and sales from young customers in their 20s and 30s also gained 32 percent on year since the renovation.
