South Korean mid-sized builder Jungheung Construction is set to leap to the country’s third largest builder after finally signing a share purchase agreement with KDB Investment on Monday to buy a 50.75 percent stake in Daewoo Engineering & Construction Co. for 2.1 trillion won ($1.8 billion). It uses own capital for financing without help from financial investors when acquiring its bigger rival and plans to keep Daewoo brand independent after acquisition. It is now awaiting the antitrust approval.
