Hyundai Motor's Boston Dynamics acquisition named best M&A deal for 2021

Hyundai Motor Group’s acquisition of American robotics company Boston Dynamics was named the best M&A deal for 2021, according to a survey by the Maeil Business Newspaper on financial executives and CFOs of 43 major Korean companies. The deal ranked top by gaining 33.3 percent of vote, followed by Shinsegae’s takeover of eBay Korea with 26.2 percent and the same group’s acquisition of Starbucks Coffee Korea with 9.5 percent. More than half of 57.1 percent of respondents picked SK Group Chairman Chey Tae-won as a business leader who is expected to stand out on the M&A scene in Korea next year.
