South Korea’s Samsung Heavy Industries Co. continues to enjoy a bumper order harvest, landing a 971.3 billion won ($833 million) order to build 4 units of LNG carrier from an unidentified shipper in Bermuda on top of a 2 trillion won deal to build 7 shuttle tankers last week. Korea Shipbuilding & Offshore Engineering Co. netted a 382.6 billion-won deal to build 4 units of LNG-powered petrochemical carrier for a shipper in the Middle East. KSOE was behind 61 LNG-propelled carriers so far this year, grabbing the largest share of global orders.
