Apple TV+, the subscription-based on-demand streaming service of global tech titan Apple Inc., joins the mushrooming streaming market in South Korea next week in partnership with local internet service provider SK Broadband Co.

Apple announced on Monday that it will launch Apple TV+ and its flagship set-top box Apple TV 4K on Nov. 4 in Korea.

Apple TV+, the industry’s first all-original OTT platform, has a rich pipeline of popular original content including “Ted Lasso,” “The Morning Show,” “Foundation,” and “Invasion.”

The service will offer a cheaper price package in the country with a monthly subscription fee of 6,500 won ($5.5), compared with its rival Netflix’s lowest of 9,500 won. Up to six people can simultaneously access an Apple TV+ account.

Streaming will be ad-free, available on demand and viewable both online and offline, Apple explained.

Apple will also launch “Apple One,” an all-in-one subscription that bundles all Apple services including Apple TV+, Apple Music, Apple Arcade, and iCloud+, in Korea with a monthly fee of 14,900 won. The set-top box Apple TV 4K will carry a price tag of 239,000 won.

Any customer who purchased an Apple device in Korea after Sept.17 can subscribe to the streaming service free for three months.

Timed with the launch of the streaming service in the country, Apple will globally premiere its first Korean original series titled “Dr. Brain” on Nov.4. The sci-fi thriller series based on a popular Korean webtoon of the same title is directed and produced by filmmaker Kim Jee-woon and stars Lee Sun-kyun from Academy Award-winning film “Parasite.”
