"Investigating the Facts" Hometown Cha-cha-cha Star Kim Seon-ho Releases His Position Two Days after the Controversy over His Private Life

The actor Kim Seon-ho’s management company released its position and said, “We are investigating the facts” concerning a recent controversy over the actor’s private life.

Kim’s management company, Salt Entertainment released an official statement on October 19 and said, “We are currently investigating the truth of an anonymous post,” and added, “Since the facts have yet to be confirmed, we kindly ask that you wait a little longer.”

On October 17, an anonymous post was uploaded on an online community claiming that a woman was forced to have an abortion by her boyfriend, actor K and that the actor unilaterally ended the relationship after the two had planned to get married. Curiosity over the truth of the post spread, and so did suspicions that actor K mentioned in the post was Kim Seon-ho, who appeared in the recently aired tvN drama Hometown Cha-cha-cha. Kim Seon-ho remained silent, but two days after the controversy was triggered, his management released its position saying, “We are truly sorry that we cannot state our position on this issue sooner.”

Kim Seon-ho was scheduled for an online interview after the ending of Hometown Cha-cha-cha on October 20, but the interview was canceled due to the controversy. Domino’s Pizza and other companies that hired Kim Seon-ho for their advertisements have begun taking down his pictures in their official channels and are trying to minimize the impact of the controversy.

Kim Seon-ho debuted in the stage drama New Boeing Boeing in 2009 and began expanding his boundaries to TV with his performance in the 2017 KBS drama, Good Manager. He gained popularity after appearing in Season 4 of One Night and Two Days (KBS) in 2019 and in Start-Up, a tvN drama last year. He soared to fame with the TV drama Hometown Cha-cha-cha which recently ended.
