Yamazen chair receives Korea's top honor of merit ahead of World Korea Business Convention

In celebration of World Korean Day, Korean-Japanese Choi Jong-tae, chairman of Japan’s Yamazen Group engaged in real estate, business consulting, transportation, and golf course businesses, on Tuesday received the Grand Order of Mugunghwa from Korean President Moon Jae-in for his contributions to improve Korea-Japan friendship and cooperation. The honor is the highest order awarded by the government to an individual. Choi was acknowledged for his roles at Junior Chamber International Korea, Korean Residents Union in Japan, and Korea-Japan Friendship Association. He was the 2007 chair of the World Korea Business Convention that brings together entrepreneurs of Korean origin across the world under the joint sponsorship of Maeil Business Newspaper. The 19th convention is held at Lotte Hotel from Oct. 19.
