Samsung Heavy Industries wins $807.8 mn contract to build 4 LNG carriers

Samsung Heavy Industries Co. has bagged a $959.3 billion won ($807.8 million) worth order to construct four units of liquified natural gas carrier for an Asia-based client, the company announced in a regulatory filing on Thursday.
The South Korean shipbuilder will deliver the LNG carriers in stages by Feb. 29, 2024, it said. Vessel capacity and other details were not disclosed.
Shares of Samsung Heavy Industries ended Friday down 0.16 percent at 6,190 won in Seoul.
