Korean Inc. biz sentiment sours in Sept amid virus resurgence and rising oil prices

Korean business sentiment deteriorated amid unfazed Covid-19 outbreak and strong commodity prices on top of unresolved chip shortage. The BIS compiled by the Bank of Korea came to 84 in September, off 3 points from the previous month. The BSI for the manufacturing industry fell 5 points to 90, and that for non-manufacturing sector lost 2 points to 79. The BSI outlook for the coming month fell 1 point to 86.
