Former U.S. top North Korean envoy Biegun appointed Posco adviser

Former U.S. Deputy Secretary of State Stephen Biegun who served as special representative for North Korean issues under the Trump administration has been appointed as adviser for Posco America, the U.S. subsidiary of Korean steel giant Posco, in August, sources said Tuesday. Biegun wil offer Posco consultations on international relations, investment, green industry, and trade strategies during his one-year term, which could be extended. He was invited as Posco Forum speaker earlier this month and spoke about foreign policies of the Biden administration and new international order.
