Veteran golfer Choi Kyoung-ju became the first Korean to win the PGA Tour Champions tournament for senior professionals after hitting 4-under par 68 with 5 birdies and 1 bogey in the final round of the PGA Tour Champions PURE Insurance Championship held at Pebble Beach Golf Links in California, Sunday, local time. The 51-year-old recorded total of 13-under 203, two strokes ahead of 2nd place winners to take home $330,000. Choi is a pioneer in Korean men’s golf who was the first Korean to win the PGA Tour at the New Orleans Compact Classic in 2002. His last trophy was Korean Tour’s CJ Invitational in 2012.
