South African Airways flew its first flights since March 2020 following a series of bankruptcy proceedings. The South African government bailed out the airline with more than 426 million euros and a restructuring of its debt as the airline emerged from bankruptcy after slashing hundreds of jobs and selling a fifty one percent share of its business to a group of investors called the Takatso Consortium.
