Chanel announced Thursday that Jennie of girl group Blackpink will be the new face of Coco Neige, the fashion house’s collection for winter sports.
Chanel revealed the news with photos of Jennie donning a hot pink two-piece set that was matched with long-padded coat. Dutch photography duo Inez and Vinoodh shot the 2021/22 campaign.
“Just hearing about being able to join the Coco Neige collection was like a dream!” Jennie said during the shoot.
In relation to the campaign’s concept dedicated to ski, mountain and snow, Jennie said, "I love to go out in the snow, doing winter sports. I really like how snow just makes you feel. Wearing these clothes makes me feel like I’m ready to ski tomorrow.”
Jennie debuted as a member of Blackpink in 2016 and has been active as an ambassador for Chanel since 2017. She also performed at the opening of the Chanel flagship store in Seoul in 2019.
The 2021/22 collection campaign fronting Jennie will be revealed on Sept. 28 on chanel.com.
