S. Korea tops Asian countries, ranking 5th in Global Innovation Index

South Korea ranked 5th in the Global Innovation Index 2021 rankings announced by the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO), marking its highest rank to date. The country went up five notches from the 10th last year to top the Asian countries beating Singapore, Japan and China. The WIPO recognized notable advances made by Asia’s 4th largest economy in global brand value, as well as cultural and creative services exports. Switzerland took the top spot followed by Sweden and the U.S. and the U.K.
