Kimchi-themed cooking contest to take place in U.S., France, UK

Korea’s food-making conglomerate Daesang Corp. will hold a kimchi-themed cooking contest in the U.S., France, and UK to promote the locally most-loved fermented dish to a wider audience, the company said Thursday. The contest, dubbed Jongga Kimchi Blast, is funded by Daesang and co-organized by renowned cooking schools in Paris Le Cordon Bleu and Culinary Institute of America, Association Mes Amis, as well as Korean ad agency SF Ad. Contestants should present new diches using kimchi as ingredient. Top 3 winners will receive prizes in each country with first place winner receiving $5,000 in U.S., 3,000 euros in France, and 3,000 pounds in UK.
