SK Materials-led JV to invest $725mn to build silicon anode plant in Korea

A joint venture set up by SK Materials and U.S.-based battery materials company Group14 Technologies will build a plant in Sangju, North Gyeongsang Province in South Korea to churn out silicon anode and raw materials at a cost of 850 billion won ($725 million), according to SK Materials on Tuesday. The JV, tentatively named SK Materials Group 14, is 75% owned by SK Materials and 25% by Group14 Technologies and is on track for inauguration in September.
