Director Yeon Sang-ho’s “Hellbound,” his first Netflix original series, has been invited to the 65th BFI London Film Festival.
The first three episodes will be screened at the LFF Series’ Thrill section. It’s the series’ third invitation to a film event after being asked to attend the Toronto International Film Festival and Busan International Film Festival.
“Hellbound” revolves around a supernatural event as Grim Reapers begin to arrive in Korea to take away the “bad” people to hell. The series is adapted from a Naver webtoon of the same title, in which Yeon collaborated with cartoonist Choi Gyu-seok. Choi co-wrote the story with Yeon for the series.
A star-studded cast of actors such as Yoo Ah-in, Park Jeong-min, Kim Hyun-joo and Won Jin-ah feature in the series.
BFI London Film Festival is Britain’s largest annual film event which takes place from Oct. 6 to 17 this year.
