Singer CL [LYFT]

Singer CL is taking part in a #StopAsianHate campaign with U.S. ride-sharing service Lyft and non-profit organizations to fight discrimination and violence against Asians in the United States.

"We all deserve to feel safe going to and from work or just attend to our daily lives," CL said in an interview with PAPER Magazine, stressing, "It's now an urgent problem that requires all of us to step up as a global community to combat this together."

For the campaign, Lyft is promising "dependable transportation" to the Asian American and Pacific Islanders (AAPI) population in the United States, offering credits for free and discounted rides.

The credits will be given to non-profit organizations for distribution, including NAPCA (National Asian Pacific Center on Aging), Asian Americans for Community Involvement and Self Help for the Elderly.

"Racism, xenophobia, and hate have no place in our communities and for Lyft, that starts by ensuring AAPI riders feel comfortable using our services," said Joan Hanawi, the Strategic Manager for Social Impact at Lyft.

"We're proud to be partnering with CL and nonprofits that serve the AAPI community to help provide access to transportation options."
