Hyundai Motor Co. will suspend production of its SUV Tucson and hydrogen fuel cell-powered crossover SUV Nexo for two days next week to cope with airbag control-related chip supply shortage. The suspension – on May 17 and 18 – will come on parts of its production line at its Ulsan factory. Hyundai Motor is also considering temporarily shutting down its No. 3 Ulsan plant that produces Avante sedan and small SUV Venue. The automaker had also last week closed its small truck Porter production line and last month Ioniq 5 EV and five-door SUV Kona due to shortage in driving motors and chips.
