Migrant workers in South Korea held a march for migrant labor rights Sunday from Cheonggye Stream’s Jeon Tae-il Bridge – named for a South Korean labor activist who committed suicide by self-immolation in protest of poor working conditions at South Korean factories – to the Seoul Regional Employment and Labor Office.

The march, held a week ahead of International Workers’ Day on May 1, called for allowing free movement between workplaces, shifting control of work permits from employers to migrants, and enacting anti-discrimination legislation.
