Seoul "strongly regrets" Tokyo decision to release radioactive water

South Korea has expressed strong regret over Japan's decision to discharge radioactive water from the wrecked Fukushima nuclear plant into the ocean. Koo Yoon-cheol, head of South Korea's Office for Government Policy Coordination, said on Tuesday Seoul will take every necessary measures in line with the principle of keeping the South Korean people safe. Seoul’s response comes after Tokyo’s announcement earlier in the day that it plans to start releasing massive amounts of radioactive water stored in tanks at the crippled nuclear plant.
