Limited viewing of cherry blossoms on Yunjung Street in Yeouido, Seoul, began Monday. The street, which has been under traffic control since Wednesday, is now open to selected viewers who applied for a spot online. The selected viewers can enter the street after a temperature check and identity verification. They are also given a sticker to put on their clothes to show their designated time slot.

Due to rain over the weekend, fallen cherry blossom petals had covered the street before the limited viewing began on Monday. This also changed the end date of the limited viewing to Wednesday from the originally planned Sunday.

Among some 35,000 people who applied for a spot, only 1,080 were selected.
