Young migrants leave the Canary Islands to mainland Spain

A group of 10 minors are the first to leave the Canary Islands after some 18 months of waiting and will be taken to two youth centers in Palencia and Leon. According to the UN refugee agency UNHCR, around 23,000 migrants arrived in the Canary Islands in 2020, while Spanish authorities? figures show 2,341 migrants arrived on the islands in the first two months of 2021.
