Korean-American rapper Killagramz apologized on Thursday via his social media after he was arrested and charged with marijuana possession and consumption on Monday.
“I am so sorry for disappointing my fans who love and support me, and even to people who didn’t know me until this incident,” he wrote on his Instagram. “I did something I should’ve never done as a public figure that children watch.”
On Monday, Killagramz’s neighbor reported a “smell of burning mugwort and thick smoke” to the police, who found the rapper with marijuana in his kitchen.
He was arrested and confessed to buying about 400 thousand won ($350)-worth of marijuana from an unidentified person in Itaewon, central Seoul last December. He is currently under investigation without being detained.
“I admitted all charges and voluntarily submitted evidence. I am cooperating with the investigation because I am repenting. I will gladly accept legal punishment,” he said. “I deeply apologize once again [...] to people who respect the Korean law.”
Killagramz is best known for his appearance on the fifth and sixth seasons of Mnet’s hip-hop competition program “Show Me the Money” in 2016 and 2017.
