South Korea’s GS said on Sunday it will recruit local startups to participate its first mentorship and accelerator program for early-stage biotech players. The application will be closed on Mar. 7, 2021.

The program dubbed GS Challenge aims to foster Korean startups and explore business opportunities in eco-friendly and future growth areas through open innovation.

The program which will be co-led by tech startup accelerator Bluepoint Partners will be focused on biotech companies in the areas of new production and utilization methods for eco-friendly materials; waste and pollutant reduction, prevention, purification, and recycling; and disease diagnosis and healthcare products and solutions. The program will begin in April and end in August.

Final winners will receive an opportunity to demonstrate proof of concept for their business ideas and free resources including mentorship, strategic advice, and networking opportunities to further their businesses.

To be eligible to enter the accelerator program, a startup entry must have more than two team members who have proven biotechnology and be at an early stage of development. The application can be filed to the program’s official website.
