South Korean President Moon Jae-in will speak on the global health care and economic crisis at The World Economic Forum (WEF) Davos Agenda, taking place virtually on Jan. 25-29.

Moon will deliver a keynote speech at the WEF agenda-setting session scheduled on Jan 27, according to presidential spokesperson Kang Min-seok. His special address will begin at 4:00 p.m. in Seoul (7:00 a.m. GMT). The president will also hold a question-and-answer session.

Moon is among the leaders of more than ten nations, including Chinese President Xi Jinping and German Chancellor Angela Merkel, invited for special events at the WEF. Global business leaders will also be in attendance, including Ray Dalio, co-chairman & CIO of Bridgewater Associates, and David Solomon, chairman & CEO of The Goldman Sachs Group.

Under the theme of “A Crucial Year to Rebuild Trust,” this year’s meeting will address the economic, environmental and social challenges following the virus crisis.

"In the context of the COVID-19 pandemic, the need to reset priorities and the urgency to reform systems have been growing stronger around the world…This unique meeting will be an opportunity for leaders to outline their vision and address the most important issues of our time, such as the need to accelerate job creation and to protect the environment,” said Klaus Schwab, founder and executive chairman of the WEF on Monday upon announcing the Davos Agenda schedule.

The WEF, also known as the Davos Forum, serves as global platform for leaders from business and government to civil society gather together and address key issues in January every year. Due to the pandemic, the WEF will hold its 2021 annual meeting in Singapore, instead of its traditional place of Davos, Switzerland, in May.
