S. Koreans advised against overseas travel until Feb 15

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs said Friday it has “extended special travel advisory on overseas travels to all nations and regions” to citizens for another month from Jan. 17.
Korea issued the first special advisory on Mar. 23 last year for three months and since then has been renewed the issue by one month. The latest will last until Feb. 15 but could be extended again depending on the virus situation.
The government issues special travel advisory when it expects there exists short-term danger. It stands between level 2 for highly cautious and level three for recommended withdrawal.
Under the advisory, citizens are recommended to cancel or delay traveling abroad, and Koreans living outside the country also are urged to abide by hygiene rules so they are not exposed to infection harm, refrain from going outside, and minimize contact with others.
