South Korea’s over-the-counter (OTC) stock market ended 2020 with a record-high daily turnover and annual trading volume on Wednesday, joining bigger peers Kospi and Kosdaq in this year’s stock boom.

The daily turnover of the K-OTC amounted to 14.7 billion won ($13.6 million) on Wednesday, according to the Korea Finance Investment Association (KITA) that runs the market, breaking the previous highest record set on Aug. 14 this year at 14.5 billion won.

Total transaction volume for the whole year reached 1.28 trillion won, exceeding 1 trillion won for the first time since the market opened in 2014.

The K-OTC market is the venue where investors trade unlisted blue-chip stocks in a more transparent and convenient manner. Its annual trading volume has been growing steadily every year, from 159 billion won in 2016 to 990.3 billion won in 2019.

It has 137 stocks for trading and their market capitalization hit an all-time high of 17.4 trillion won as of Wednesday.
