Lotte deploys patrol robot to keep watch on safety in construction site

Lotte Engineering & Construction Co. is deploying four-legged walking robots named ‘Spot’ on its construction sites to establish a database. In partnership with startup Conworth led by Yonsei University professor Heo Joon, the company plans to utilize Conworth’s edge cloud system called ‘B-Eagle’ for rapid data processing. The B-Eagle system enables processing even hundreds of gigabytes of data in just an hour or two, addressing data latency problem and guaranteeing real-time service, the company said. The four-footed walking robot ‘Spot’ will be used in testing automated data mining system on construction sites.
