Korean writer Baek Heena, known for her award-winning children's book "Cloud Bread" (2007), is sharing her insights at the ongoing Singapore Writers Festival.

The festival, which started in 1986 and attracts more than 20,000 visitors annually, has moved online this year to allow more people to join the literary event in the times of the coronavirus pandemic.

As part of this year's festival, Baek, the winner of the 2020 Astrid Lindgren Award, has been invited to talk in “Elly’s Art Show Featuring Baek Heena,” presented by Singaporean children’s book writer Elieth Sardinas.

Baek is the fourth Korean to be invited to the event, after Shin Kyung-sook who wrote “Please Look after Mom” in 2012, Hwang Jung-eun who wrote “Kong’s Garden” (2019) and Ancco, the pen name of cartoonist Choi Kyung-jin.

Baek will deliver some encouraging messages to children, especially those with ambitions to become children's books writers themselves. She will share some tips and even read some of her favorites.

Baek's session will be aired live through the event’s Facebook page at www.facebook.com/sgwritersfest, and will last for about 30 minutes from 10 a.m.
